American Chestnut Trees at Jordan Homestead

Mark Whiting, Jay Barnes (Frenchman Bay Conservancy) and Tabitha White (Arborist, Ellsworth Tree Committee, Green Ellsworth) planted hybrid American chestnuts at Jordan Homestread (FBC preserve) for later plantings in Ellsworth as part of Tree City initiatives.

Thirty trees were donated by American Chestnut Foundation, Maine Chapter. Trees will be overwintered and planted out next year in Ellsworth.
