Notice of Board Supervisor Election 2024

Please find below our official notice of the upcoming 2024 elections for Hancock County Soil & Water Conservation District Board of Supervisors.

NOTICE OF SOIL AND WATER CONSERVATION DISTRICT SUPERVISOR ELECTION

Persons desiring to run for election to the office of Board of Supervisors should contact the District Office at: 474 Bucksport Road in Ellsworth, Maine, telephone 207-667-8662 to obtain nomination papers. Completed nomination papers must be received at the District Office no later than November 11, 2024. All registered voters within the boundaries of the District are eligible to vote in the election of District Supervisor by contacting the District to request a ballot.

District Supervisors are volunteer positions, requiring a minimum of 2-3 hours per month, including a monthly Board meeting on the 4th Wednesday of each month from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Additional information may be obtained by contacting the District

Individuals interested in an appointment to a non-elected position on the Soil & Water Conservation District’s Board of Supervisors by the State Commissioner of Agriculture, Conservation & Forestry are invited to contact the District Office for further information.

Those interested in getting elected or being appointed to a volunteer Board of Supervisor position should contact our District office at 207-667-8663 or hcswcdinfo@hancockcountyswcd.org. Office hours are Mon 9-1, Wed 8-12, and Fri 9-1 and by appointment.

Interested in voting in the Election?

Residents who reside in Hancock County may also contact us to request a ballot so they may vote in our Election on December 4th and 5th, 2024. Ballots will be mailed to all those who request it with a return envelope enclosed.
