Please mark your calendars for three upcoming events to welcome spring!

  • Monday, April 16: Join the Ellsworth Garden Club for a presentation by tree specialist, Tabitha White, on the value of urban trees, entitled “Treeing our City: a vision for a public/private canopy.” White will discuss a tree planting plan for Ellsworth, including attention to walkable corridors that connect our City. The presentation is in support of a Green Plan for Ellsworth, and will be located at the Bryant Moore Community Center at 7:00 pm. For more information, please visit our Events page.
  • Saturday, May 5: Spend the day outside at Ellsworth’s Annual Card Brook Clean-up and Union River Celebration. Join your neighbors to lend a hand for the clean-up from 9:30 AM – 12:00 PM and then stick around for a fun celebration from 12:00-4:00 PM. At 2:30 PM, there will be a guided paddle on the Union River. Please see our Events page for more information.
  • Roadside Litter Clean-up: Related to the Annual Ellsworth Clean-up, the City Public Works Department invites you to collect trash along your road, bag it, and then leave it along the road for Public Works staff to pick it up for free (no trash stickers required). Please let the City Public Works Dept. know in advance that you’ll be participating (so they’ll know where to find the trash). You may contact Public Works through their website here or call them at 667-2563.
