District Conservationist: Jeremy Markuson
NRCS names new Hancock County District Conservationist
HCSWCD is happy to welcome NRCS District Conservationist Jeremy Markuson to Hancock County.
Jeremy will be working with agricultural producers and private landowners in Hancock County who are interested in addressing natural resource concerns.
Jeremy brings to his new job nearly 20 years of experience in natural resource issues. Before coming to Maine and NRCS, Jeremy worked as a biologist for the National Park Service and The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. A native of Colorado, Jeremy earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Forestry and a Master’s of Science in Forest Science from Colorado State University.
“I’m really looking forward to working hand-in-hand with private landowners and other partners in Hancock County to protect and enhance our natural resources and improve agricultural productivity,” Jeremy said. “Although I have a lot to learn about the current natural resource concerns and challenges in Hancock County, I believe we can provide the tools and conservation practices that will ensure the conservation of our natural resources and the long-term sustainability of agriculture within the county.”
Jeremy can be reached at the NRCS Hancock County Office at 207-947-6622, ext. 5 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
