Ellsworth – There will be a meeting of the USDA Local Working Group on Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2018, at 5:00 p.m. at the USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) Field Office, 474 Bucksport Road.  Immediately followed by the Conservation District’s Fall Potluck 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Bryant E. Moore Community Center 133 State Street, Ellsworth.

Guest Speaker Ben Naumann of NRCS will be speaking on the Regional Conservation Partnership Program Aquatic Passage during the potluck dinner followed by a brief meeting to recognize District Supervisors and provide project updates.

The public meetings are planned as part of a joint effort by the USDA and the Hancock County Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) to engage more participants in the conservation process in Hancock County.

Local Working Groups provide input to the District Conservationist of the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) on local natural resource priorities and criteria for conservation activities and programs. Topics of discussion will include prioritizing resource concerns for Hancock County for Fiscal Year 2020.
